DIY All Natural Bathroom Cleaner
Did you know that many household cleaners contain volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and toxic substances? VOCs are gases emitted into the air from products and other pollutants.
According to the American Lung Association, "Breathing VOCs can irritate the eyes, nose and throat, can cause difficulty breathing and nausea, and can damage the central nervous system as well as other organs. Some VOCs can cause cancer."
The best way to avoid VOCs? Limit your exposure to them. A great place to start is by making your own household cleaning supplies. This DIY bathroom cleaner is a cheap and effective way to get rid of the bacteria in your bathroom, without worrying about VOCs and toxic chemicals.
This recipe includes half water, half white vinegar. The acidity in vinegar makes it perfect for breaking down the buildup of soap scum and other messes. Spray on surfaces for 30 minutes to get the full effect of its disinfecting magic that will kill germs and clean your mirrors, toilet, floors and sink.
Note* Do not use vinegar on natural stone such as granite or marble, or waxed wood, as it can etch. Incorporate all water with a couple tablespoons of Castile soap instead.
